Since our last report and Benefits Forum, additional briefs and affidavits have been filed by both Piedmont and the Benefits Task Force. The legal fillings continued to go back and forth at a steady pace during 2024. However, around the first of the new year 2025 Piedmont filed that they would not submit any additional fillings which we were in agreement with. There was nothing new that the plaintiffs (us) and the defendants (Piedmont) could add to the case. At this point the case is in the hands of the Federal Court and the Judge. We have no understanding of how long it will take for the Judge to make a ruling and in what form he will do so. We wish to recognize the tireless effort of our lawyer Mr. Jack Long and his staff and the strong position we feel he has established with this case for our deserving retirees.
